December - Production Update
Posted on December 30 2016
We're in the middle of mass production and I've received some pictures.
Here we have a stack of slides waiting their turn for the second round into the machine where the non-slip over-mold will be applied.
After the over-mold is applied the slides are put into large rolling bins to be transferred to the packaging station. After seeing this picture I asked if they could stack them with a little more care and they agreed.
The packaging materials itself is about a week out. Slides will be boxed into 7 and 10 packs before their packaged into the master carton that will include the folder, brackets and slides for each bundle.
Here's a mock-up a 10 slide-pack / accessory. Simple and clean.
Below is one half of the polished over mold. The red tubes are cooling lines that speed up the cooling process which allows a faster cycle time. If the mold is separated while the plastic is too warm it will cause defects. These line insure we keep it cool and save time.
I'll keep you posted as things developed.
